A Few Things to Consider If You Are Financing Your Purchase

Pre-Qualification

  • We can assist in helping you meet with a mortgage broker to find out how much you can afford to pay for a home.

Pre-Approval

  • While figuring out your budget is the first step, sellers are more receptive to potential buyers who have been pre-approved.

  • As a buyer, you apply for a mortgage and receive a commitment in writing from a lender, while locking in an interest rate. This way, assuming the home you’re interested in is at or under the amount you are pre-qualified for, the seller knows immediately that you are a serious buyer for that property. 

Lists of Needs and Wants

  1. Items You Must Have: number of bedrooms based on family size, one-story house if accessibility is a factor, etc.

  2. Items You Want But Aren’t Necessary: pool, den, etc.
